Meet the team

Kell Lean

Kell Lean came to GMVA as an athlete after heading home early from a poor experience at a National Camp. But this didn't crush her, this was a building block of becoming a determined and resilient young women, great leader and super setter.
Three years later Kell headed to Junior College in the USA for 2 years before transferring to a NCAA D1 school on a full ride.
After graduating Kell came back to Melbourne, earnt a position in the National as was the only female athlete in the GMVA CoE program. Later that CoE year, Kell was named National Senior Team Captain.

Now Kell is the Head Coach of the u19 National Program and working with Volleyball South Australia along with giving guidance and assistance to the college pathway through GMVA.

Luke Campbell

Luke Campbell played 247 games for the National Team and participated in the 2004 Olympics, 2002 and 2006 World Champs, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2007 Asian Champs.
Post indoor, Luke played one year on in FIVB Beach World Tour with the National Beach Program.

Professionally Luke played in Spain, Germany, Holland, Montenegro & Saudi Arabia over nine years.

Since retiring from playing, Luke started coaching and took over the Greater Melbourne Volleyball Academy in 2010.
In 2012 he placed the first GMVAer to college, Linford Bennett, in Canada. Linford was the first of now 73 boys and girls that have been helped by GMVA getting to college.
