GMVA Elite Program
GMVA Elite, is generally for the highest level year 11 & 12 athletes that are trying to manage VVL and school while continuing to develop their volleyball knowledge and ability. Most players will have a specific position by now, but again, everyone still participates in drills to improve all aspects of their game. There are often a number of players that still have 2 playing positions in the squad.
The GMVA Elite squad trains on 5 Wednesday nights during the school term and then ramps up training to up to 4 sessions per week with the GMVA Centre of Excellence in the school holidays. This enables athletes to manage their study during the school term and also commit to their State League club training, if they have one. The school holiday sessions are designed to be a more intensive training period where they train up to 4 times per week with GMVA CoE.
In the school holidays when the athletes train with the CoE, they get exposure to:
- strength and conditioning that the CoE athletes do
- advanced video analysis for technical adjustments
- recovery sessions
- advanced drills designed to really excel their volleyball development
The cost of this program depends on years of membership at GMVA.
- 1-2 years at GMVA, $800
- 3+ years at GMVA $700
